Dextro is an artist based in Vienna, Austria.
After his high-school degree dextro studied photography and graphic design at the Graphische Lehr- und Versuchsanstalt in Vienna. Since then he worked for the architects Krischanitz, Loudon, Katzberger, Tschapeller and Hoffmann in Vienna, with the painter and graphic artist Oskar Putz as well as for graphic design and video studios in Tokyo and Berlin during several years. In Toyko, he founded the working community 2334.org with Yosuke Nakamura with the aim of applying algorithmic animations for tv-spots and textile patterns.
Since 1994, dextro runs the websites dextro.org and turux.org, where you will find his non-commercial works: abstract graphic design experiments (many in the field of electronic music), interactive animations, algorithmically generated videos, photographic series and oil paintings. Works from dextro.org (especially the algorithmic ones) have been published in a series of books and magazines and were shown on numerous exhibitions and film festivals.
